Version Timeline

Version 2026-07-27

Current Version
Changes in this version:

Voice Chat Disclosure - Play Lounge added optional push-to-talk voice chat for private invite-link games. This version documents what that means for your privacy, corrects two earlier statements that are no longer accurate, and explains why voice is not available to children.

What Changed:
  • Correction: removed claims that the app carries Google AdMob and AdSense advertising. It does not, and has not since the switch to a self-served in-house promotion banner — there is no ad-network SDK, no advertising identifier is read, and no ad cookies are set. Sections on advertising data, ad controls, ad networks and children, cookies, and the Play Data Safety summary were rewritten accordingly.
  • New Section 8 "Voice Chat" covering availability, opt-in, processing, and controls
  • Corrected "Microphone or audio recordings" in the do-not-collect list — audio is now relayed live, though still never recorded or stored
  • Corrected "no chat features" to "no text chat features"
  • Voice is limited to private invite-link games and is never offered in random matchmaking
  • Voice requires a 13+ age confirmation; children cannot enable the microphone
  • LiveKit voice relay (self-operated on Fly.io) disclosed as infrastructure
  • Google Play Data Safety entry added for audio: collected, not stored
  • Push-to-talk design documented: the microphone is open only while the button is held
  • All other privacy practices unchanged — still no accounts, no tracking, no permanent storage
